Make raw material and method of cotton wool.

Raw material: superior cotton, caustic soda (NaOH, industrial grade), water.

The process takes the cotton apart and removes the visible impurities, such as pebbles and dead leaves. Wash the cotton with water until it is clear. Put the cotton in the enamel pot, add the water to the water just to be submerged, and then add to the pan the NaOH, which is about 2% to 5% of the water weight, boil and simmer for 10 minutes. To cool, rinse with plenty of water, and wash for about 10 minutes. Dry the washed cotton paper.

Note that NaOH is highly corrosive and must be covered with gloves and plastic, and should be cleaned immediately on the skin. Do not cook too long, lest the polymerization degree decreases, affecting esterification. Pay attention to dust when drying.
